CPP Classics: 2020 Halloween Special – Legendary Creatures Due to a family emergency, we’re reaching into the vault for one of our favorite Halloween episodes. In this 2020 Halloween Special, Coby and Cam explore the strange world of legendary creatures, terrifying folklore, and the monsters people have claimed to encounter throughout history. We look at where these stories came from, what might be hiding behind the legends, and how prepared you would actually be if one of these creatures showed up outside your tent. It’s creepy stories, questionable survival plans, legendary monsters, and classic Casual Preppers nonsense pulled directly from the dirty little archives. Stay safe. Stay spooky. Stay survived. Listener Q&A: Apocalypse Superpowers, Cave Bugouts and the Stay Survived Sandwich We’re answering another round of listener questions, and this one goes in every possible direction. Would we use an old diesel tractor to help stranded people after a CME? Is bugging out to a cave actually a good idea? Would we rather survive Jurassic Park or Predator? And which apocalypse superpower would be the most useful? We also get into camping lantern recommendations, embarrassing early prepping mistakes, keeping an offline phone or tablet in a Faraday bag, Flock cameras, surviving extreme heat versus extreme cold, celebrity man crushes, unfinished Casual Preppers film projects, and what we would change to make the podcast better. Then we create the ultimate Arby’s collaboration: the Stay Survived Sandwich, featuring every meat on the menu, roughly 180 grams of protein, 3,500 calories, a 72-Hour Calorie Stick and emergency-ready packaging. Plus, grocery-store survival strategy, questionable childhood movie crushes, biblical survival, machete collections and more completely necessary preparedness discussion. THE 2026 PREPPER MOVIE DRAFT! It’s time for the first-ever Casual Preppers Movie Draft. Cam and Coby build their ultimate SHTF movie rosters by drafting from a pool of survival, disaster, apocalypse, alien invasion, zombie, and end-of-the-world movies. They have to choose which movie world they would survive in, which nightmare they would force their co-host into, the best bug-out vehicle, the most survivable prepper character, the most fun apocalypse, and much more. Once a movie is picked, it’s gone. Who built the better prepper movie lineup? Mindless Banter: Wilhelm Reich and Orgone Energy Wilhelm Reich started as a serious psychoanalyst in Freud’s world and ended up building orgone boxes, weather machines, and UFO-fighting pipe cannons. This episode has everything: childhood trauma, cosmic sex energy, healing cabinets, Einstein’s basement, FDA raids, burned books, deadly sky poison, blueberry rainmaking, cloudbusters, Arizona UFO battles, and maybe even an alien dad. Reich believed he had discovered orgone, a universal life force tied to sex, health, weather, radiation, and outer space. Then he spent the rest of his life trying to collect it, measure it, weaponize it, and defend Earth with it. It’s one of the strangest spirals we’ve ever covered. A Freud guy goes full cosmic plumber. Sponsors: BattlBox LMNT TacPack: Use code CASUALPREPPERS for a free $70 machine-made part from Next Level Armament.
The Last Safe Town: Could Your Town Hold It Together? In most emergencies, people think about two choices: stay home or bug out. But there’s another piece that matters just as much: the town you already live in. In this episode, we’re looking at your actual town as a survival asset. The roads, water system, grocery stores, fuel, comms, schools, churches, public works, medical care, local businesses, and the people who keep the whole thing running. Could your town handle 72 hours? What about three weeks? What about three months? We talk about what could cut your town off, how weather and geography shape your risks, whether people and supplies can actually move, where your water and food really come from, how fuel and power keep the town functioning, and why public works might be one of the most important groups nobody thinks about until something breaks. We also get into local comms, gathering places, medical weak points, outside support, leadership, outsiders coming in, and how to score your town with a simple green, yellow, or red “hold-together” test. Your town is not automatically safe because it’s small. It’s not automatically doomed because it has limits. The real question is whether you know what’s actually there and whether those things can hold under pressure. 10 Year Anniversary Q&A This week we’re celebrating 10 years of The Casual Preppers Podcast with a listener Q&A full of survival talk, questionable vehicles, tactical animals, hook-hand attachments, Arby’s controversy, movie kids, horses, cults, FEMA camps, and plenty of mindless banter. We get into bug out bags for kids, the best SHTF vehicles, which movie crew we’d rather babysit during the apocalypse, survival skill priorities, grid-down celebrity cabin buddies, EMP-proof transportation, stashed motorcycles, checking in on family, and whether prepper anxiety ever really goes away. Most importantly, thank you. Ten years of this show only happened because you kept listening, sharing, sending questions, supporting sponsors, buying merch, and letting us crawl into your dirty little ear holes every week. Thanks for 10 years. Stay Survived. Why Your Bug Out Bag Sucks Everybody loves the idea of a bug out bag, but a lot of them are built more like fantasy survival gear collections than real emergency tools. In this episode, we break down why bug out bags fail: no destination, too much weight, untested gear, bad food, weak water plans, forgotten family needs, poor communication, expired supplies, and no real decision point for when to actually leave. A good bug out bag is not supposed to help you disappear into the woods forever. It should help you leave fast, stay functional, communicate, handle basic problems, and get to the next safe place. We also run through a quick bag audit you can use to check your own setup. Stay survived. Mindless Banter 150: Ley Lines Episode Description Ley lines are one of those weird topics that show up everywhere once you know what they are. Ancient sites, stone circles, old churches, UFO sightings, earth energy, fairy roads, portals, vortexes, and even places like Skinwalker Ranch all get pulled into the conversation. In this episode, we look at where the ley line idea started, how it got weird, why skeptics think it’s map nerd garbage, and why it still makes for a perfect Mindless Banter rabbit hole. Episode Breakdown 🌍 What ley lines actually are and why people think ancient sites may be connected 🗺️ Alfred Watkins, The Old Straight Track, and the original non-magical version of the idea 👎 Why skeptics think ley lines are just pattern-hunting on old maps 🐉 The St. Michael Line, dragon symbolism, Glastonbury Tor, Avebury, and the Michael and Mary lines 🛸 UFO theories, alien navigation routes, Warminster, Sedona vortexes, and the Seattle Ley Line Project ⚡ Earth energy grids, ancient power spots, vortexes, and the idea that sacred sites were built where the land already had power 🧘 Earth chakras, Mount Shasta, Glastonbury, Lake Titicaca, Mount Kailash, and other spiritually charged locations 🪄 Dowsing rods, ley hunters, confirmation bias, and the weird history of people trying to detect invisible lines 👻 Strange places, thin places, portals, Skinwalker Ranch comparisons, and why certain areas collect so many weird stories 🧚 Fairy roads, fairy forts, old folklore, and the idea that some parts of the land were better left alone 🧱 Ancient power plant theories, pyramids, Stonehenge, standing stones, and lost technology claims 🏚️ Cursed construction, haunted developments, bad roads, old burial sites, and what happens when people build where they probably shouldn’t Podcast Sponsors Thanks to our sponsors for supporting the show: BattlBox Get outdoor, survival, EDC, and adventure gear delivered monthly.
