If Kirby swallowed a boss from Metal Gear Solid, what absolutely bonkers power would he obtain? Which of the X-Men would be the biggest bummer of a roommate? Is King Bob-Omb's rule officially recognized by the Mushroom Kingdom or is Bob-Omb Battlefield a sovereign nation? Debate This! asks the kind of bold and heroic questions about your favorite video games and comics that no other podcast would dare ask. Although, it's probably because other people have better things to do than argue which color of Yoshi is the best color of Yoshi. In this show, no one is right, but someone is definitely wrong.

LEGO are not only a fun toy to play with in the real world, they're also the building blocks of a whole slew of video games. There are well over 50 official LEGO video games and over 30 of those games are based on movies. Most of those movies are family friendly classics, but nearly a third of annual LEGO sales belong to adults. That's right, LEGO isn't just for kids. These days you can both be into LEGO and also see an R-rated movie in theaters without parental supervision. So, all that said, we're making LEGO games out of R-rated movies. You're welcome! Kyle is talking about the definitive movies of a franchise. Andrew is talking about the definitive best movie of last year. Todd is talking about definitive Greek mythology. With Marvel having slown down a bit in the past year or so, it's honestly been nice to not have to feel like we are constantly running towards the next thing. So, take a breath along with Matt and Todd as they reflect on Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again.
Six whole years ago, in February of 2020, James Marsden, Jim Carrey and Sonic the Hedgehog sparked an idea in our heads. With box office hits like Sonic and Detective Pikachu, a Super Smash Bros. Cinematic Universe felt inevitable. Well, after half a decade of corporate slop and two Chris Pratt Mario movies, an SSB-CU just isn't as appealing as it used to be. Despite that, we're pitching one anyway. So, you're welcome, I guess. Matt is doing Rocky but Nintendo. Todd is doing Star Wars but Nintendo. Andrew is doing something else. Space. The final Frontier. For centuries, man has looked up at the sky and wondered what exists out there beyond the reaches of our imagination. And in 2013, a hero-turned-villian-turned-back-to-hero named Sean Murray dared to answer that question. His answer: Nearly infinite procedural generation. No Man's Sky is one of the most interesting case studies among modern video games. As we near the game's 10-year anniversary, this marks a great time to look back and reflect. On the surface, this is a story of a game dev who flew too close to the sun and whose wings burned off like Icarus. But, 10 years of free update and massive, free update tell a much different story. Not only did Icarus grow his wings back, but they eventually grew back bigger and better than ever before. Modern games like Kirby and the Forgotten Lands and Pokemon Pokopia have put a new twist on post-apocalyptic media. These games combine the bleak realities at the end of the world with cute, cozy gameplay and aesthetics. What inspired this fresh outlook on the end of days? Who knows! But we here at DT!HQ are ready to capitalize on the trend. This week we're prepping for the collapse by rebooting old game franchises as cozy, post-apocalyptic tales. Todd is ready to surprise you with a casting you forgot. Kyle is ready to depress you with an economy you remember. Matt brought cryptids?
