Joshua was a leader on all fronts – material and spiritual. He demanded uncompromising adherence to Torah law. But that's not all. He valiantly led the nation in the military conquest of the Promised Land.
In the face of unimaginable tragedy, something else happened too: barriers between Jews began to fall. Religious and secular. Right and left. Soldiers and Torah scholars. People who had spent years arguing suddenly remembered something deeper: We are one people. As we mark another anniversary of October 7, Rabbi Lazer Brody—an IDF veteran who later transformed his life through Torah—asks a difficult question: Have we already begun to forget? Drawing on his combat experiences, extraordinary moments of brotherhood between Jews who seemingly had nothing in common, and his journey from a secular soldier to a life of Torah, Rabbi Brody explains what he believes Israel needs most to face the challenges ahead. On Wednesday, September 30, 2026, FlyDubai Flight FZ1073 from Dubai, UAE (United Arab Emirates) to Tel Aviv, Israel almost became Israel's version of 9/11. Knowing that most of the passengers were Israelis, a frenzied, Jihadi-indoctrinated co-pilot from Oman attempted to hijack the flight and self-destruct by attacking the captain with an emergency hatchet that was in the cockpit. The ruckus forced the Boeing 737 MAX 8 into a dangerous nosedive over Saudi Arabian airspace. Thanks to the Almighty's string of miracles, the heroic captain, despite serious injuries and severe blood loss, managed to open the cockpit door. 3 alert Israeli passengers from Israel stormed the cockpit, seized the would-be suicide-terrorist co-pilot, and pulled back on the throttle to pull the aircraft out of the nosedive. An off-duty pilot aboard the flight miraculously stabilized the aircraft and made a safe emergency landing at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia. The miracles are mind-boggling:
Succoth is the season for joy. How do I repay someone who helped me strengthen my faith and made me happier? What's it worth, a million dollars? A billion dollars? There's a big difference between repaying a material favor and repaying a spiritual favor. This time of year is especially conducive to pondering the spiritual side of our lives...
The four species teach us several important lessons that we badly need to learn, especially with elections in Israel a month away. Enjoy our 5-minute Succoth message on Hidabroot TV and have a lovely holiday!
Guzzler the Goat is a heartwarming and hilarious story for young readers about the cost of reckless choices and the courage it takes to make a fresh start. It's the newest book in the Grandpa Isaac Stories series for children, by Rabbi Lazer Brody. Deep in the foothills of Mount Patience on Grandpa Isaac's farmstead lives the world's most food-obsessed billy goat, Guzzler. Guzzler is the undisputed leader of Solomon's herd — not because of his wisdom, but because of his size. His one true passion is eating whatever he wants, whenever he wants — no matter the consequences. When Guzzler's nose leads the herd straight through a neighbor's fence and into a patch of irresistible jalapeños and then into something far more dangerous, the results are disastrous. But in the quiet aftermath of his worst decisions, something unexpected happens. Guzzler looks into his heart and discovers a truth that changes everything.
Most people dread Yom Kippur. Yet spiritually, the fast greatly benefits the soul and lifts it to sublime joy. See how the fast of Yom Kippur rectifies the unproductive days of our lives and rejuvenates us with blessings of abundance.
The Gemara says the two best days of the year are the 15th of Av and Yom Kippur. The 15th of Av is "Love Day," a special day conducive to finding soulmates. But Yom Kippur? What's so great about a 25-hour fast? It's Soul Day, the day of the year when the soul parties…
