Nathan Oakley | Why the Globe Needs a Flat Earth

Why does Nathan Oakley say the globe needs a flat Earth? The author of Measured Flat: All Roads Lead to Flat Earth joins Chance Garton on InnerVerse to explore his argument that the globe model depends on fundamental flat measurements. What does an elevation angle actually measure? Why do you level a compass, and why are north and up different directions? Nathan connects these questions to celestial navigation, sextants, Polaris, and the distinction between observation, calculation, and scientific experimentation. This conversation follows Nathan’s critique of globe geometry into mapping, Earth’s magnetism, and explanations of its interior. Along the way, we examine the language of scientific authority, the mental effort of following increasingly complicated explanations, and what happens when an answer sounds convincing without becoming understandable. How do we distinguish something we can measure from something a model asks us to assume?Enjoy the new features for this episode at https://www.innerversepodcast.com/episodes/nathanoakley1980✦ CONTINUE INTO INNERVERSE PLUSWatch the complete conversation, including nearly an hour of additional discussion exploring calculations of the distance to the sun, gas pressure and containment, gravity, and the burden of proof. Nathan also turns his criticism toward Tartaria, mud-flood narratives, and the incentives shaping online conspiracy content.InnerVerse Plus+ is best on the InnerVerse website: https://www.innerversepodcast.com/plus/nathanoakley1980Patreon (Patrons get access to the new site too): https://www.patreon.com/innerverse/posts/170706766/Substack: https://innerversepodcast.substack.com/p/nathan-oakleyYoutube: https://youtu.be/xQgXnWqQZC4✦ NATHAN OAKLEYMeasured Flat: All Roads Lead to Flat Earth: https://booksonline.club/shop/flat-earth/measured-flat-all-roads-lead-to-flat-earthNathan’s YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/@NathanOakley1980✦ SUPPORT INNERVERSE WITH AFFILIATESKyle Denton's Potent Plant Medicines – Tippecanoe Herbs (use coupon code 'innerverse'): https://www.tippecanoeherbs.comThe World’s Best Tuning Fork: https://biofieldtuningstore.com/collections/the-sonic-slider-collection?ref=innerverseFlower Elixirs by LotusWei: https://www.lotuswei.com/innerverseNutritional Products from Clive de Carle: https://clivedecarle.com/?sld=204George Wiseman’s Aquacure AC50 (use coupon code innerverse for discount): https://eagle-research.com/product/ac50/ Hosted on Acast.
