Austin McGee from FanSided joins the program to discuss a bright future for the Dallas Mavericks. He shares his thoughts with Gerald on the rise of Cooper Flagg and just how high that rise can get in the upcoming season. They also discuss what their outlook for the season is, and with the return of Kyrie Irving, could it mean contention for a playoff berth for the team from Big D. Austin also shares his thoughts on the Lakers and what the former Maverick himself, Luka Doncic, can do now that the Lakers are building a team exclusively around him. We head to Texas for a preview of the Dallas Mavericks as we continue with the best in NBA Observations!
The Lakers return home to the Crypt for their first game of the preseason in the friendly confines of Los Angeles, with a rematch scheduled against the Sacramento Kings. And despite more players being held out of the lineup, the home cooking was good in the first half as the Lakers built up a double-digit lead. Even a cooling off in the fourth quarter wasn't enough to prevent the Lakers from scoring a 114-110 preseason victory. Check in with the LFB crew as we go over what we liked (and didn't like) about the game, who is still out with minor injuries, and when we could see the main nucleus all play together. It's the Lakers hosting the Kings as LA returns to Crypto.com Arena for the first home game of the (pre) season, and we're sharing our thoughts (and more) on the Lakers Fast Break podcast! The Lakers Fast Break is now included in the Top 100 basketball podcasts, according to MillionsPodcasts! Mike Anguilano from Fear The Sword stops by to preview the Cleveland Cavaliers. Check in as he and Gerald share thoughts on the acquisition of Peyton Watson and what he'll do for the team, the tough playoff loss to New York and what that may have taught us, and whether this nucleus will stay together much longer. Plus, they discuss the Donovan Mitchell extension and how good the Lakers look for this upcoming season. We head to Cleveland to take a look at the Cavaliers and ask if they are now worthy of taking that next step to the finals. The answer to that question is forthcoming, as the Lakers Fast Break once again provides the best in NBA Observations!
The Lakers stayed in Northern California on the second of a back-to-back as they faced off against the Golden State Warriors. And with Luka, Austin, Kessler, and more being held out of the lineup, the rotation and bench players were no match for Steph Curry and the Warriors as Golden State went up big early and ran away from the Lakers, 124-98. Check in as the LFB crew shares thoughts from the game, who has stood out (for good and bad) over the two games in the preseason, and what's up next for the team later this week. The preseason continues with a short trip from Sacramento to the Bay Area and a meeting with the Warriors, and we've got you covered right here on the Lakers Fast Break podcast! The Lakers Fast Break is now included in the Top 100 basketball podcasts, according to MillionsPodcasts!
