#080: I Just Hit A Huge Milestone in My Business- My Thoughts About Goals and Building a Business Online

Exactly 2 weeks ago actually. It's crazy because it was a goal I've had for a while, and it's a big deal to me, and a huge honor…. and yet I couldn't find the emotional bandwidth to really celebrate it when it happened. The day before it happened, I woke up to find out that one of my closest friends had been killed in a motorcycle accident. He was my go-to, and he probably would have been the first person to celebrate this milestone with me. So, when it happened and he wasn't there, it caused a big pit in my stomach, an enormous wave of grief, and I also had the happy feelings associated with the milestone all at the same time. I felt like my heart was going to explode because I wasn't sure what to feel. The other day, my friend Robin reached out to me to congratulate me on this accomplishment. She had heard the company owners mention it on one of our masterminds. She said, "Have you been celebrating it? I haven't seen you talking about it anywhere." That's when I realized I hadn't been able to give it the celebration that it deserves. I am a huge believer in taking the time to celebrate all of our wins, big and small, along the way on our journeys… and I was not doing that. Robin's message was a wake up call for me. My friend Gio had also reached out to me right after it happened, to congratulate me and to also ask a few questions about my journey in getting here. Our conversation contained a lot of really good insights about the way I build my business, and a lot of the differences between the way I do it and the things I believe in that are much different than the way some others build their businesses and work toward their goals. So, I thought I'd share some of those thoughts with you in today's episode, in case they may help someone else.
