Christopher Carter of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, hosts the Locked on Steelers podcast.The Pittsburgh Steelers traded Joey Porter Jr. to the Dallas Cowboys for a second round pick in 2028 and a sixth round pick in 2027. Christopher Carter reacts to the trade, and why thinks Omar Khan got robbed with bad value in his return. Porter was the Steelers' shutdown cornerback of the future who hadn't allowed a touchdown reception in his three years as a starter, also as one of the best press man coverage cornerbacks in the NFL. Only getting a second round for a draft that's two years away isn't the value Khan should've gotten for a cornerback who the Steelers were building their defense around. Khan drafted Porter to be the Steelers' leader at a premier NFL position, and signed Jamel Dean as another man-press cornerback to pair specifically with Porter for the future. Now, the Steelers will need another star cornerback in the near future from the NFL Draft while they still search for their franchise quarterback of the future.
