Michigan State Defeats Incarnate Word 89-59 in 1st Exhibition Game

October 2, 2026: Michigan State began their season (sort of) with an early exhibition game following the student camp out against the University of Incarnate Word from Texas. The Southland conference team was the pick by MSU and they easily handled the Cardinals, 89-59 behind Jesse McCulloch’s 20 points and 5 rebounds. A lot to like in the game and the progression with McCulloch and Jordan Scott who has added strength and some more poise. The rest of the crew looked good too and we will have to wait until October 20 and the matchup against UConn to get a better feel for what this team might be.
