Are Dolphins Fans Giving Up on Malik Willis Too Soon? | Fish Tank x DolphinsTalk Crossover

The Miami Dolphins are 0-4, and Malik Willis is taking plenty of heat from Dolphins fans. But is the quarterback really the biggest problem in Miami? On this week’s Fish Tank x DolphinsTalk Crossover, O.J. McDuffie, Seth Levit and Mike Oliva tackle the growing debate surrounding Willis and whether four games—with a young receiving corps, an inconsistent offensive line and now no De’Von Achane—is nearly enough to determine if he can become Miami’s quarterback of the future.Nobody is saying Willis has been good enough. But the guys push back on the idea that the Dolphins have already seen enough to move on. They break down the plays that don’t necessarily show up in his stat line, including the spectacular would-be touchdown to Chris Bell, and discuss what Willis has shown with his mobility and ability to escape pressure. As Juice puts it, Willis still has to prove he’s “the guy”—but he deserves the opportunity to do it. The conversation also turns to the 2027 NFL Draft and why assuming Miami can simply replace Willis with a first-round quarterback may not be nearly as simple as some fans believe. Plus, what could Willis look like next season with more weapons, a healthier roster and Miami finally having resources to continue rebuilding around him? And there ARE reasons for optimism despite the 0-4 record. Ollie Gordon II is making the most of his opportunity and could form a dangerous one-two punch with Achane in the future, while young players on Jeff Hafley’s defense are beginning to show real signs of development. Four games. Four losses. But Miami’s first four opponents are a combined 15-1, and this was always supposed to be a developmental season.
