After the hiatus to end all hiatuses (is that even a word?) we are back with the final installment of the Strut Revival miniseries. This week, we have one of our most special guests ever: Whitney Cannon. Whitney and the boys have a great time catching up on old times and hearing all about her turkey season that ranged from Tennessee to Oklahoma. She is a turkey hunting machine and is an even better person. We talked about her recent experiences in the turkeywoods. You can watch them here: BuckVentures YoutubeYou can also find her floating around Insta, Facebook, and TikTok...If you enjoy the episode go ahead and give us a follow and a comment. If you don't like it, keep that junk to yourself. :)
If you want to know something about calling a wild turkey then you call Alex Rutledge. I think we're safe to say that "legendary" is a good descriptor of Alex when it comes to living the outdoor lifestyle. His keen sense of what's going on in the turkey woods and in the life of turkeys is second to none. In this episode, Lance and Noel enjoy getting to know Alex as an impactful outdoorsman but also as a brother in Christ. Slade Johnston is the epitome of a Southern Outdoorsman and gentleman and he stopped by the Hunting Heritage Podcast to help us give a proper kickoff to the Strut Revival miniseries this Spring. In this conversation, we found our way out to Hawaii, back to Florida, into Mississippi and then on to Alabama! One of the things that you can appreciate about Slade is his affinity for fellowship: turkey hunting is as much about the people as it is about the hunting. Enjoy hearing stories, tips, and tactics from one of the best to do it. As always, listens, follows, comments, reviews, and shares are a major blessing to us! The boys are back in town and have a fresh "catch up" session. This time of year can make a fella miss hunting but it definitely is not a time for sitting on our haunches. Lance has been burning the candle at both ends while getting his new farm in shape. Noel has been on the road to the NWTF Convention in Nashville and has plenty of stories to tell.
The long anticipated episode has arrived where Noel sits down with his dad, Mike, and brother, Chris, at the family farm and reminisce on days gone by. This is a heartfelt episode that goes clear back to the late 1960s and what it was like in the Deep South deer woods. The guys talk about first experiences, community safety meetings, traveling to the midwest to hunt big deer and so much more. As always, if you enjoy the podcast we would be honored to receive your listen and your follow!
