"In the Weeds": Keys to Victory for OU Football's Offense vs. the Texas Longhorns' Defense

Gabe Ikard and Teddy Lehman give the "Keys to Victory" for Oklahoma football's offense against Texas' defense in the Red River Rivalry on October 10, 2026. They break down how they believe OU OC Ben Arbuckle should attack Will Muschamp's defense. In the run game, they believe the Sooners should spread Texas out to create more natural space and attack the Longhorns with perimeter run game. In the passing game, they think the Sooners should not allow Colin Simmons to wreck the game, need to target Isaiah Sategna & Rocky Beers consistently throughout the game & John Mateer needs to take some chances throwing the ball down the field and giving his wide receivers a chance to go make some plays for him. 0:58 OU's offense must spread Texas' defense out to create some more natural space for the Sooners running game 7:35 OU's offense must attack the edges of Texas' defense with perimeter run game (outside zone, pin pull, jet sweep, swing screens, etc. ) 11:56 OU's offensive line must cover guys up when the Sooners do decide to run in between the tackles 16:51 OU can't let Colin Simmons wreck the game. The Sooners must have a plan to help E'Marion Harris and Ryan Fodje throughout the game 25:05 Isaiah Sategna and Rocky Beers must win on their routes and John Mateer needs to feed them early and often in the passing game 31:44 John Mateer must push the ball down the field and challenge Texas' corners 35:47 OU's offensive line, running backs and tight ends must handle Texas' pressure packages in 2nd and long and 3rd and long well to allow Mateer to make some critical throws to extend drives Official Site: https://okbreakdown.com/episodes/in-the-weeds-keys-to-victory-for-ou-footballs-offense-vs-the-texas-longhorns-defense YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uTleHISrTWE • Kalshi link: Visit http://kalshi.com/r/OKBreakdown and new customers will receive $55 when they trade $25!
