There are very few legacy sequels that match or potentially surpass the original, often they end up being tired retreads of what came before. Blade Runner 2049 is one of those few exceptions, coming 35 years later and helmed by Denis Villeneuve it reintroduces us to the ruined future with updated elements like more compliant Replicants, AI girlfriends, horrendous poverty and Harrison Ford in a t-shirt. It also has Ryan Gosling as K doing his own version of Blade Running around with hologram Ana De Armas. Incredible movie.
