Activision Taking Over Halo Might Be Exactly What Xbox Needs

Episode #620: Activision is reportedly taking over development on the next Halo, and honestly, this might be one of the most exciting moves Xbox has made in years. The XoneBros break down why giving Halo to a team with deep shooter experience could be the reset the franchise needs, what Activision could bring from Call of Duty without turning Halo into Call of Duty, and why a great Halo game still matters so much for Xbox.We also dig into the leaked Xbox Mythic achievement system, including the badge, the sound, the name, and why this could finally give Xbox players a real reason to go back and finish games. Mythic achievements could make 100 percent completions feel special in a way Xbox has needed for a long time, especially if they show up clearly on player profiles.Plus, we talk about RuneScape: Dragonwilds, Star Wars Zero Company, Destiny’s latest apology video, and the weird pride that comes from comparing completed games. From Qbot to Elden Ring to Prominence Poker, this episode somehow becomes a full debate over what counts as a “real” 100 percent completion.Join the XoneBros as we talk Halo’s future, Xbox’s new achievement chase, Dragonwilds co-op chaos, and why prestige still matters in gaming.
