Finding the perfect wedding dress for your particular body type is easy when you have some direction. In this feature, we discuss the best wedding dresses for a pear shape body.A pear shape is described as having narrow shoulders, a smaller waist, and fuller hips. The key to dressing for this shape is to balance out the smaller top half and a larger bottom half. So how do we do this?First, determine the shape of the dress you want. If you are looking for an a-line or a princess ball gown, these are the perfect silhouettes to start with. If you are thinking of a mermaid or fit to flare, this is definitely doable with a few strategic additions.Next, you work with the appropriate neck line. V-neck and Sweetheart are always appropriate, as are square and off the shoulder. Any neck line that will give a visual of broadening the shoulders works beautifully.Once you have your silhouette and neck line, you can accessorize. If your dress is strapless, you can get a shoulder wrap that will add visual dimension to your shoulders and balance the hips. If you have a more fitted dress, you can add off the shoulder straps for balance. You can always add a belt to highlight the waist giving more of an hourglass figure. To elongate your balanced frame, choose a cathedral length veil; if you need to broaden the upper body, try an elbow or shorter length.Read our full blog titled "Best Wedding Dresses For A Pear Shape Body Type".
Finding your mother of the bride or groom dress is not simply "purchasing a dress". This is a very important gown to be selected for your child's wedding day, and therefore requires thought and planning.First, know the rules of wedding etiquette. Next, consider the season, venue, formality, and color palette. From there, begin saving dresses you like to your Pinterest board and you will see common features emerge (neckline, shape, details). Then, this information to a bridal store with professional stylists. They will assist in finding gowns that match your specific needs, measure, and order your dress in plenty of time for final tailoring.Spring and autumn are when new gowns arrive in-stores and many will have new trending colors and features. Included in each collection will be tried and true shapes that work for all body shapes and colors to match any season and palette. Our new Mother dresses from designers like Montage by Mon Cheri, Alexander by Daymor, Cameron Blake, and more offer gorgeous options at varying price points. We are proudly size inclusive, too.Read the blog and see pictures of some of our New Elegant Mother of the Bride & Groom Dresses.
