This week marks the start of our summer Listener Mail series, where we answer your questions, share our opinions, and dive into some of the topics that matter most to home growers and cannabis enthusiasts. In this episode, we discuss drug driving tests, how they work, the challenges they present for cannabis consumers, and some practical considerations for staying on the right side of the law. We also share our thoughts on the current testing system and the issues many medical and recreational consumers have with it. We then move on to growing, answering questions about the best way to run a perpetual grow using autoflowers, including how to keep a steady supply without overcomplicating your setup. We also cover caring for worms in living soil systems, what they need to thrive, and how they contribute to a healthy soil ecosystem. Finally, we tackle nutrient storage, discussing how long different nutrient solutions can be kept after mixing, and the key differences between storing salt-based nutrients and organic feeds. As always, it's a relaxed and informative session packed with practical advice, grow talk, and a few laughs along the way. If you've got questions you'd like covered in future Listener Mail episodes, be sure to send them in! 🌐 Website: https://highonhomegrown.com 💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/sqYGkF4xyQ 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/highonhomegrown
In this episode, Macky sits down with Dan from Legal Growers UK for an in-depth discussion about home cultivation, cannabis law, and the future of reform in the UK. Dan joins us to explain the goals of Legal Growers UK, the arguments for allowing adults to grow their own plants, and some of the biggest misconceptions surrounding home cultivation. We explore the current legal landscape, discuss the challenges facing campaigners, and examine how home growing could fit into a sensible regulatory framework. Along the way, we tackle some difficult questions, challenge assumptions from both sides of the debate, and look at what real-world reform could mean for growers, patients, and the wider public. Whether you're interested in cultivation, policy, personal freedoms, or simply want to understand the arguments being made for change, this conversation offers plenty of food for thought. Here are the stories we covered in this weeks show: Macky: How paranoia led to the death of a 93-year-old in Desborough - BBC News Smee: 98% of UK mental health patients report improvement from medical cannabis - leafie Three jailed after former nightclub converted into cannabis farm - BBC News Dr.Margaret: Japan Health Ministry Announces Ban On Cannabinol John: New Changes To ATF Gun Form Put Medical Marijuana Patients On The Path To Restored Second Amendment Rights (Op-Ed) We start off by covering a story showing that over 90% of people using cannabis for mental health issues say it has worked great for them. We then move on to a story claiming that cannabis-induced rage caused a man to beat his 92-year-old friend to death... even though the man had a long history of violent convictions. Guess which of those stories was covered by the mainstream media?! Margaret tells us about the banning of CBN in Japan, and we discuss how that could affect THC, considering CBN is essentially a degraded form of THC. John brings a story about changes to gun ownership forms in the USA, arguing that with cannabis being rescheduled, restrictions on medical cannabis patients may no longer be appropriate. Finally, Smee tells us about three men in the UK who have been jailed for growing cannabis. I hope you enjoy the episode! In this week’s episode, we wrap up Season 2 of Grow Guides with a relaxed but important conversation about the reality of growing cannabis at home, and why it’s nowhere near as complicated as many people think. We give a simple overview of the growing process from seed to harvest, touching on the key stages growers need to understand while also reminding listeners that perfection is not required to grow good cannabis. Too many new growers get overwhelmed by information online, worrying about every little detail before they’ve even planted a seed. The truth is, cannabis wants to grow. Most of the learning comes from actually getting started, making mistakes, and improving one grow at a time. We talk about building confidence, keeping things simple, and not being afraid to jump in and learn through experience. It’s a positive and encouraging end to the season, aimed especially at newer growers who might still be sitting on the fence about starting their first grow. A huge thank you to everybody who has supported Grow Guides throughout Season 2. We appreciate every listener, every question, and every member of this amazing community. We’ll be back soon for the next season! 🌐 Website: https://highonhomegrown.com 💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/sqYGkF4xyQ 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/highonhomegrown
This week we spoke with Dan, a cannabis activist from the UK. Dan has some interesting ideas that he believes could help push the UK government towards legalising cannabis for recreational use. He is part of an organisation called Legal Grower UK, and we chat with him about his ideas, what he thinks is going to work, what he sees for the future of cannabis in the UK, and much more. We also have a special livestream coming up with Dan! It will take place on Wednesday 3rd June at 10pm UK time, live on our YouTube channel. We need you guys there to help us challenge Dan’s ideas and find arguments against some of his points, so it should make for a really interesting discussion. Join us for the session, it’s going to be a good show! Do you have any suggestions for guest on the show? Here are the stories we cover in this weeks show: Macky: Warnings the medicinal cannabis industry could turn deadly without tougher regulation | ITV News Channel Smee: Police defend decision to dismantle another Leicester cannabis grow | Leicestershire Live Dr.Margaret: Marijuana Can Play A Role In Combating Obesity, Contrary To Stereotypes About Lazy Stoners With The Munchies, New Federally Funded Study Suggests Billy: UK Medical Cannabis Imports Hit 30 Tonnes as Canadian Producers Bypass European Processors John: Federal Judge Dismisses Anti-Marijuana Groups’ Lawsuit Challenging Medicare Hemp Coverage Program We have some propaganda as usual, where it is claimed medical cannabis can turn deadly if its not properly regulated! Ridiculous! Also, we see evidence that cannabis can help reduce obesity, regardless of the stereotypical Munches it gives us. Police in the UK defend their actions of taking down a cannabis grow, amongst backlash from social media messages. The UK has imported over 30 tonnes of cannabis form Canada! And some USA cannabis company is making it harder for new people to join the industry! Lots going on in the world of cannabis news! I hope you enjoy the episode!
In this week’s Listener Mail episode, we answer a huge range of questions from the amazing High on Home Grown community, covering everything from soil health and trichome production to dream grow setups and the future of cannabis laws in the USA. We discuss compacted living soil and how to keep soil healthy throughout a grow, whether growers ever find that one “perfect strain” they’d be happy with forever, and what our ultimate no-budget dream grow rooms would look like. We also get into the possible implications of proposed cannabis seed restrictions in the US, and whether the industry is slowly being pushed toward a pharmaceutical-only future. There are also questions about curing and storing cannabis properly, favourite things to do while high, essential pieces of grow equipment every grower should own, and whether freshly dried bud can sometimes hit harder than fully cured flower. FreeNuggz came loaded with questions this week too, sparking discussions about boosting trichome production late in flower, using fan leaves for nutrition, how to tell when autoflowers are truly finished, maintaining living soil over multiple runs, and some seriously stoned theories involving light cycles before harvest 😄 As always, it’s a laid-back, informative, and hilarious episode full of grow knowledge, cannabis culture, and the random tangents that Listener Mail episodes are famous for. 🌐 Website: https://highonhomegrown.com 💬 Discord: https://discord.gg/sqYGkF4xyQ 📺 YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/highonhomegrown

John: CBD Holds Potential As An ‘Anticancer Agent’ For Dogs, New Scientific Review Concludes We start off with John bringing us a story about how CBD can help treat cancer in dogs.... and humans, but the focus is more on dogs than humans, for some reason ( to avoid pharma flags most likely). Then Smee tells us about the struggles families in the UK have to go through to get medicine for their children, and highlights the struggle of Hannah Deacon and her family. Billy then tells use about some new cannabis application methods available to patients soon, and how it can benefit certain patients. Finally, Macky tells us about the problems of the prices of cannabis medicine in the UK, and how it affects people in different class brackets.
